How do I turn ON "auto-formatting" for telephone numbers?

So that if I type in 5555551212, Outlook "formats" the number to: (area
code) XXX-XXXX automatically.

Older version of OUtlook DID autoformat the telephone number

All Outlook versions do this once you have set you dialing location
correctly at the operating system level.

Thank you--however, I don't know how to set the dialing location correctly at
the operating system level......

Then perhaps you would like to tell us what operating system you are using.

Russ,

Thank you very much.
I knew there had to be some simple setting somewhere that took care of this.
Thanks again!
