How do I turn off system restore for XP???

Right click on "My Computer" and select Properties, goto the System Restore
tab and check "Turn off System restore"
 
Brian:-
Start\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore then click
on "System Restore Settings" then click the tick box
marked "Turn Off System Restore On All Drives"
