Did you upgrade your computer with Vista or did you buy a new computer with
Vista on it?

If you upgraded, was it an upgrade from XP or did you do a fresh
installation?

What mail service do you use? Is it Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, or from your
ISP?

Hello, I am from Spain and my English in not perfect (but is better than your
Spanish :))
I have installed vista since 2 days (Ultimate 64 bits). All perfect,
hardware, software 80%, but when I tried to use Microsoft mail, I found a
problem. First of all, I tried with Tune Up mail to transfer my backup to
Micro. Mail, but NOOOO (doesn't works). I search in Google, and I found a
very simple solution. I don't know if it's your case, but I have 5 hard disk.
In one of this I have XP with all installed, and I installed vista ultimate
64c with a new 500 Gb. I have xp and vista. In Vista, I went to the folder
where there are the identities of outlook (XP hard drive), normally is
c:\Documents and setting\USER??\Local Config.\Program Files\Identities (I
don't know if the translation is correct), if not, go to search and search
for .DBX, and all the folders with .dbx will appear. And in properties (The
identities folder), I saw that the folder is "only read" (in spanish solo
lectura), I changed it, simply click on the box and the X disapier. And do
that to all the container folder of the identities. After that, I start
Windows Mail, Archive, Import, Mail, Microsoft Outlook Express 6, import from
a folder, and select the folder you want, and Voilà, it works. Do the same
with all the identities, and microsoft mail will create new folder, and only
change name and create Mail Properties for redirect the mails to the correct
folder.

Regards.

I have to ask... if you used MS Outlook in preference to Outlook Express
previously, why do want to move from MS Outlook to Windows Mail when Windows
Mail is nothing but a replacement for Outlook Express, with about the same
functionality. MS Outlook (almost any version) has more features than
Windows Mail.

I am moving to Windows Mail because Outlook express is not included with
Home Office 2007.
Not happy, but that's microsoft .
