How do i take th over type off?

I was type on day then all of a suden i went to back to fix a mistak and all
it just kept typing over wat i already typed please hepl i hate this thing.
HELP

You have accidentally put it into 'OverType' mode. Press the Insert(Ins) Key
once or DoubleClick the 'OVR' button at the bottom of the screen...
