I use outlook 2003 and want to create a profile in outlook to synchronize my
hotmail account. to create the account followed following steps.
1. tools - e-Mail Accounts
2. Add a new email account - next
3. HTTP - next
4. entered details of account and selected HTTP mail service provider as
hotmail and the server URL present was ( Grayed out )
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp - next
5. finish

I find the hotmail folder in outlook and have no problems logging in but
when I click on the send/ recieve button to synchronize the mailbox it gives
me following error

Task 'Hotmail: Folder: Inbox Synchronizing headers. 'reported error
(0x800CCCF4) : 'An unknown error has occoured. Please save any existing work
and restart the program.'

do you have a paid hotmail account? if so, delete the srs file for your
profile - it's at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Hi,
'try checking the box "Connect via Modem when Outlook is offline" (in
Tools, Email Accounts, Change Email accounts, select Hotmail, select Change,
More Settings, Connections tab), and it will work.
