How do I swtich off the Auto date feature in Office Pro 2003.

I am using MS Office and every time I open a saved document the date
automatically updates to the current. I have tried to disable this feature
but STILL it alters my corrections. Anyone have any suggestions?? I have
switched off the Auto update feature.

WORKED for me too. A whole year of carefully placed dates all showed up as
the same date until I read this posting. The ANSWER is (now) so simple. "...
and make sure Automatically Update is not checked."
