How do I sum a count field in Access 2003 Reports

I am writing a report where information has be grouped into months, and there
is a count for the record in each month.

I now want to total the count in the report footer, to show how many records
were returned for the query.

Each time I run the report at the moment I am asked to enter a parameter
value for the count, where I just want it to count the total records.

I hope you can enlighten me!

You just need a text box with the next recordsource syntax:
=count([A_field_in_the_detail])

To count the records in a report, add a text box with a control source of
=Count(*)
