My tool bar automatically re-arranges apparently according to usage. I want
it to stay the way I put it in the first place. How do I get it to stop
re-arranging itself.

Open Tools | Customize to the Options tab, then:

In Word 2000, clear the box for "Menus show recently used items first." This
is the option referred to as "Adaptive menus," and it affects toolbars as
well. You may also need to clear the box for "Standard and Formatting
toolbars share one row."

In Word 2002 and 2003, check the boxes for "Always show full menus" and
"Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows."
