How do I stop the send/receive menu from dropping automatically?

This menu drops automatically when I start Outlook, and everytime I send
outgoing mail. It's pretty annoying. I'm using Outlook 2003. Thank you.

If you want the box to stop appearing, there is a check box on that dialogue
directly underneath the progress bar called

"Don't shown this dialogue box during send/receive"

Just check this box and the progress will not be shown

Kevin,

Thank you for your reply. It isn't the progress box that is the issue. The
entire menu under "send/receive" drops from the top menu bar everytime I open
Outlook as well as immediately after I send mail. There are 13 choices
available, which block most of my inbox. The menu goes away when I click
someplace on Outlook. I'm sorry if my earlier post wasn't clear - my bad.
Thank you!

Now I understand :)

The only thing I can think of is that you have a third party add-in
installed that could be doing this. What do you have installed? Something
like a bluetooth adaptor, cell phone sync software, backup software etc. If
you do try and disable the add-ins one by one and see if one of them is the
problem. Even if you have not installed anything yourself, your PC
manufacturer may have installed on from the factory, on my Toshiba Laptop
there are three factory installed add-ins for Outlook!

Go to Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced Options there are two buttons
there Add-In Manager and COM Add-ins. Try Add-In Manager and uncheck what
you want, OK the selection back to Outlook and then restart Outlook and see
if it makes a difference.

Good luck

Kevin

Kevin,

Many thanks! I unclicked "Outbox Sender" in COM Add-Ins and that seems to
have done the trick. I'm not sure why it was checked, but so long as it is
fixed I really don't care. Again, thank you! Enjoy the weekend.
