How do I stop the restore button from closing window.

In outlook 2003, clicking the restore button after the window is maximized
the window closes. How do I fix this?

Are you sure it closes and not just minimizes to the system tray? Click the
Outlook icon in the notification area and see if "Hide When Minimized" is
checked.
