How do I stop the birthday dates showing in calendar

I have listed anniversaries in my contacts fields and they show up in the
calendar. How do I stop this happening?
 
I don't think you can if you enter the dates in contact records.

As far as I can tell, you must remove them from the Calendar manually.
Birthday dates and anniversary dates are added to the calendar automatically
when you define them in the Contact record.
