synchronizing contact info into the calendar

How do I synchronize contact information (birthdays/anniversaries) into the
calendar? I enter them in the contact fields, but they don't show up in the
calendar.

When you create a contact and enter a birth date or anniversary, Outlook
_should_ enter that date as an event into the calendar. Are you saying that
doesn't happen?

Brian,
Yes, it doesn't always synch up. I entered an anniversary a couple of days
ago, and it has yet to come up.

Thanks for any advice...

You said you entered the anniversary, but did you add it at the same time as
you created the contact record or afterward?

No, I did it afterward---but I saved it, doesn't that count?!?!?

As far as I know, if you add a date to a Contact record, either when you
create it or after the fact with an update, it should get added to the
Calendar. I just tried it with a Contact of mine. What type of account is
this? SMTP? Exchange? What version of Outlook? Is the Calendar and/or
Contacts folder in your delivery location?

Outlook 2000... what do you mean by delivery location? I use Outlook
separately from my email. (synching my hotmail account to Outlook is another
thing i've never been able to figure out!!!) sorry about the delays in
responding to your messages.
thanks for getting back to me.

Your default folders. If you add a birthdate to one of your "Outlook Today"
Contact records, it should add that date to your Calendar automatically.

That's because Outlook 2000 can't sync with Hotmail.
