when typing 1st or 2nd the st & nd go automatically into superscript. How do
I stop this happening?
I use windows XP

You say you are using Windows XP as your operating system, but you don't
tell us what application you use.

If you are using Word, please ask in a Word newsgroup.

I am using Word and would like to stop superscript. I can change fonts
successfully using 'default', but even though superscript is unchecked when I
save, the superscript still returns. I've tried opening the Normal template
directly and saved the default unchecked there too, and it still returns.

Thanks

excuse-my-ignorance,
As Rick B stated, your asking this question in the wrong newsgroup.
This newsgroup deals with Microsoft Access, a realtional database
application.
Try your question in a newsgroup that deals with Word.

The Microsoft webpage can be confusing, and apparently has misled you. The
first group in the alphabetical listing is this one, for the database program
Microsoft Access. Please scroll down the list of subject areas on the left of
the screen and find a Word forum, and repost your question there.
