How do I stop outlook duplicating e-mails that I send and receive

When I send or receive e-mails Outlook duplicates the e-mail three, four or
maybe even five times which is very confusing for me and the receipient. I
am using Microsoft Outlook version 2003.
 
What is your account setup?
Are you using a virusscanner that integrates with Outlook? Disable this
integration and try again.
