How do I stop Outlook 2000 stripping out formating in bulk mail

When using Outlook 2000 and Word 2000 to execute a bulk mail (e-mail) merge,
the formatting of the message always reverts to plain text in the outgoing
emails. Even though I have selected HTML in Outlook as the format for
outgoing email.

Are you using Exchange? If yes, check with the Admin to see if formatting
is being stripped at that level.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, PGL asked:
