How do I stop OL 2003 autocorrect???

I have recently upgraded Office 2000 to Office 2003 and then I also
got Outlook 2003. All my software are English versions for
compatibility when dealing with software development and
communications with people abroad.

Now whenever I am typing a message OL2003 changes any i in the text to
an I (changing lowercase to uppercase). It is so annoying to have to
go back and change to lowercase after writing the message.

I tried to find a setting where the capitalization of i is controlled
but failed.

In my language the single letter word "i" means the same as the
English word "in" and is definitely not spelled with a capital letter
inside a sentence. I don't want this anglified correction to happen.

word or outlook editor? Outlook editor: did you look at tools, options,
spelling? Word editor: it uses word's settings.

BTW - you can use Ctrl+Z immediately after an autocorrect to undo it.

I never use Word as my mail editor, it is too bloated big and clumsy.
I looked at the Tool/Options/Spelling, yes - but I can't find the
"word" i listed anywhere so I can remove it.
In Word 2000 I had the same problem but there I could find the
replacement entry in "Autocorrect while you type" (don't remember the
exact wording). So I simply deleted that line and was good to go.
But in the corresponding list in OL2003 I don't see any entries at all
and in Word 2003 I only see entries for smileys etc...

BTW - you can use Ctrl+Z immediately after an autocorrect to undo it.

Only problem is I don't see it because I have to focus on my keyboard
when I write with 4 fingers...

you restarted outlook after making the change in word.

practice typing in the dark - you'll be surprised how much you don't need to
look at the keyboard.

I tried the suggestion:
- entered i in the left field
- nothing showed up, no list appeared
- I went ahead and enterd i also to the right
- Restarted Outlook
- Wrote a message and it still changes i -> I ....

I once obtained a typing tutor program but never had the time to
practice...

No, it is like this:
I type the sentence "Johan i huset intill" and then when I look up at
the screen instead it is shown as: "Johan I huset intill"
Outlook has capitalized the i into an I and I cannot find where to
switch this off.

Then there is this stupid extra behaviour tha happens when writing
plaintext mail:

Text entered:
"Someone must answer
all urgent calls otherwise
we will get swamped..."

Text shown on screen:
"Someone must answer
All urgent calls otherwise
We will get swamped..."

Somehow Outlook has decided that all new lines must start with a
capital letter and changes capitalization in the middle of a
sentence....

Why???
And where do I switch it off?

And another one:
I write a message and I have made some mistake and want to erase
certain parts of a word or even half of one word and then the two
following ones. So I click the cursor to the middle of the word that
needs correction, and then drag the cursor past this word and into the
next word. Now all of a sudden Outlook expands my selection to the
left to the beginning of the word where I started!!!
So it is impossible to select half a word for deletion, as soon as the
cursor reaches the end to the right the selection expands to the left
and selects the whole word!!!

What a mess!
