How do I stop my emails from coming in MIME format

I have a Windows Vista Home operating program on my laptop (purchased in
January 2009) and am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5606).

I have been receiving a handful of emails in the MIME format and can't read
them. I am desperately trying to figure out how to change this - any
ideas/suggestions?

Just a handful? I can't find many messages in my store which aren't in "MIME
Format". Most modern clients use "Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions"
(MIME).
