how do i stop it moving to the next slide when clicked anywhere??

How do I stop the presentation moving to the next slide when it is clicked
outside the buttons because when the pointer is clicked just outside a
button it then moves on to the next numbered slide rather than where they
thought they were gonna go.

If all your slides have the slide navigation buttons, then select "Slide
Show" | "Set Up Show..." menu item, select "Browsed at a kiosk (full
screen)" option, click OK. Now the slide show will navigate only through the
buttons on the slides, keyboard will be disabled for all keys except the
"Escape" key, which takes you out of the slide show.
