how do I stop delete confirmations?

When I select a block of text and hit "delete" in Word 2003, I am asked to
select "yes/no" before it will delete the text. Obviously, this wastes time
and is extremely annoying. How do I turn this off?
 
Tools>Options>General. Uncheck "Help for WordPerfect Users" and "Navigation
Keys for WordPerfect Users."
 
Tools | Options | General: clear the check boxes for both items that refer
to WordPerfect.
