Whenever i enter dates into a database in Access 2003 in dd/mm/yy format,
when i mail merge to microsoft word it changes the format of the date to
mm/dd/yy.
Does anyone know how to stop this or why this happens?

Hi Lucy,

The date is stored as unformatted data - not actually with the format you
are seeing. When you merge it to Word, it gets formatted to Word's default -
which is actually your system's default. If you want it to always be
dd/mm/yy rather than mm/dd/yyyy you need to set that in the Regional
Settings Control Panel >>Date tab. However, keep in mind that this is going
to make ALL your dates (including email etc)_ use this date format...

When you export to Word you are only exporting the data not the format. The
standard format of the document you are exporting “to†will take over after
the export.
So
Format the Date Field as you want it to look in the Word Doc - then as you
export into this you will see the date as you want it to be.

Hope this helps.
