How do I stop bullets between each word in text

When I type text in Word I get a bullet between each word. I would like to
change this so I get text as this appears (on another computer)

If the ¶ button on the Standard toolbar near the top of your screen is
highlighted, click it to turn it off. If you don't see a ¶ button, then
click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "All" box | OK. See

Sounds like you may have show/hide on show. There is a button on the
standard toolbar that kind of looks like a backwards capital letter P. If
you put your cursor over it it will say show/hide. Click it once and see if
this removes these "bullets" from in between the words in your document.
