How do I stop a PowerPoint file from launching Adobe Photoshop?

When opening a PowerPoint file, my Adobe Photoshop launches in the
background. When I close the PowerPoint file, Photshop is still running and
I must go into my Program Manager and manually stop the running process.

I have checked file associations for PowerPoint and nothing shows for Adobe
Photosohop.

How can I stop this lauchning of Photoshop?

Steve,

It is only certain files. I have been told that this happens if you copy
and paste a graphic from Photoshop directly into PowerPoint. I haven't been
able to verify this yet.

I'd expect it of linked graphics, certainly, though not necessarily copy/pasted
ones.

See if Edit, Links shows anything when you open one of these files.
