how do I sort select names listing by company and last name

when composing a new mail message, to select a recipients name for the
contact list, the select names listing sorts by first name only. How do i
change this to sort by company or last name.
 
You can't sort by those fields. if you know part of the person's name, type
it in and let outlook resolve it.
