how do i sort rows and maintain cell references

sounds like a simple task but i can't get it! i want to sort selected rows
of a worksheet using an alpha sort of, say, clm "c". how do i maintain the
original references in clm "a"?

dont use the sort icons

you must select the whole block of data

choose sort>data

choose the column to sort by
