How do I show full drop-down menus?

I have Windows XP Home. When I go to a menu in any program like "File" or
"Edit," only part of the menu shows. If I double click, the full menu shows.
How do you change it so that the full menu shows all the time?

Your Windows version is irrelevant; what's important is the version of Word.

In Word 2002 or 2003, go to Tools | Customize | Options and check the box
for "Always show full menus."

In Word 2000, go to Tools | Customize | Options and clear the check box for
"Menus show recently used items first."

You may also want to check/clear the boxes that govern whether the Standard
and Formatting toolbars are displayed on a single row or two rows (crowding
them both into a single row often results in some buttons being hidden).
