How do I share directory with password?

I notice when I share my c: or sub-folders on my workgroup, I am the only one
without a logon box coming up for user credentials before access is granted.
I have a password on my account profile but can't get it to apply to network
logons.

Any help on how to do this would be much appreciated.

XP doesn't use passwords to protect files/folders. Permissions are
applied per user and user group. If you have XP Pro, create a user
group that will have permission to access a resource and add users to
that group. If you have XP Home, you don't have the ability to do that,
but I believe MVP Steve Winograd has said that you can assign a
password to the Guest account and that will produce a logon box when
the resource is requested by others.
