How do I set up letterhead with header & footer on first pg only?

The first pg should show company logo at top in header & address at bottom in
footer. All subsequent pages should only contain the text of the letter. In
page setup, I've chosen the options section: continuous; Headers
Footers: different first page; apply to: whole document.
When typing a letter and the text continues to subsequent pages, headers and
footers are the same as the first page. What else do I need to do?
