I need to make an alternative version to a microsoft word document suitable
for people with dyslexia. This would include making the entire background
drak and the writing white.

Format\Background select Black
Format |Font set colour to White

Then Type.

Hope this helps,

There are accessibility options available in Windows as well as Mac OS for
those with special needs. Those who require such settings have most likely
been trained to use them. If they _haven't_ been it would be far better to
familiarize them with those features - in Windows XP, for example, click
Start> Control Panel> Accessibility Options. There is information available
in Windows Help as well.

If you customize the doc in any way it will most likely display in an
unreadable manner on those systems and if the features you use aren't
supported in the Word version the reader is using they won't apply at all.
It will also be a nightmare for them to print in most cases.
