Word should let me write alternate versions of a paragraph

I would like to see a feature within Microsoft Word where it allows me to add
alternate versions of a range of text -- especially a paragraph. For
example, if I'm writing a document I may want to try wording a particular
paragraph in a few different ways and then settle on the final version. In
my mind, we'd select the initial version of the text with the cursor, right
click and choose "Alternate version..." From there we'd be able to create
new version of the text. The user would review the alternate versions using
arrows that appeared in the margins of the document. Rotating through the
versions would replace the currently displayed version with the relevant
alternate.

You can use Track Changes and/or Comments to get some of that functionality.
