How do I set my status to appear offline in outlook

If I have my messenger set to appear offline will the same rule apply when I
open outlook.

and

If I have several hotmail addresses and not all are set to appear offline
when opening will the hotmail in outlook automatically appear online???

How can I control my status in outlook

Ben -t hanks for setting my mind at rest...I am suprised that outlook help
does not offer this basic information..however, I am a technonovice and
therfore this situation is probably a given...???

Gents - how cna I have Communicator present me as offline FROM LOGIN. I.e. I
want it to start up, but NOT to show me online.

Please advise.

I would ask in an Office Communicator news group - the experts in that
program seldom, if ever, visit the Outlook groups.
