My puter has suddenly decided ro change its defaults and
every single file in it is "Read Only".

I go into properties and deselect tha, but it does not
hold.

I click for it to apply to all subfolders, but it doesn't
take effect. So I look back into the first folder and it
is again checked for Read Only.

This applies to everything, photos and all.
Very annoying.

Gaynor.

No it's not. Don't worry about it. Why does something that isn't actually
happening annoy you.

Hello Gaynor,

Adding to what David wrote, I suggest you read this
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:-
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326549
"You Cannot View or Change the Read-Only or System
Attribute of Folders"
