How do I set default associations?

C

camry

My defaults changed for some reason. When I want to view a jpeg I get
an error message saying nothing is set up to associate with viewing
this file.

Can someone advise how to set or reset default associations to picture
and music files?

Thanks!

Hi,

Click start/run or hit the Winkey+r to open a run prompt, type REGSVR32
SHIMGVW.DLL and click ok. This should reset the picture viewer for .jpg
files.

To change file associations just right click on a jpeg file, select Open
With and then Choose Program. Pick the app. that you want to open jpegs
with and check the box "Always use the selected program to open this type of
file".
