How do I set a reminder alarm in Windows XP?

Does Windows XP have the capacity to remind me with messages like an alarm
clock or mobile phone? If yes so please tell me how.

Because I had trouble with Outlook Express on my old computer I loaded
Mozilla, Thunderbird as my email programme which I continue to use because I
am familiar with it. Similarly I had problems with IE updates before and went
over to Mozilla Firefox as my browser which I continue to use.

Thanks in hope

I don't understand what you second paragraph has to do with your question in
the first paragraph, but the answer is "no". There is no alarm built into
the XP operating system. There are plenty of free or shareware alarm
programs. Here's a good site where you can look for them:

http://www.snapfiles.com/

Or just Google for "free alarm program".

Windows XP does not have a built-in reminder capability, so you need to
use a separate reminder program. You are welcome to download and try
Cute Reminder for free at http://www.CuteReminder.com It will show you
unobtrusive pop-up reminders, which are easy to delete or postpone. You
can also post sticky notes on your screen.

Windows XP does not have a built-in reminder capability, so you need to

Use Task scheduler and open notepad as often as you want.
use OE's calendar scheduler.
There's schedulers in XP, you just need to use them.

Thanks to Malke and you others as well.

The second paragraph and Malke's response to it are repeated below.

I thought readers would presume that I use Outlook Express as a mailer
because it is so common and as I believe Outlook Express does have an alarm
programme an explanation of what I do use might give clarity.

I shall certainly consider the suggestions and am much impressed with what
has been forthcoming from this discussion group, which I have not used before.

Best regards
