How do I send a distribution list to another computer?

I can send a dist list as an attachment. I can open it and it looks like the
one I sent. But when I click save and close it does not save to my contacts.
Can anyone help here?

Susan,
Isntead of just clicking Save and Close go to the File menu and select copy
to folder then select the folder you want to save it to - probably your
Contact folder.

Insert the DL as an Outlook Item in a message in RTF format.
