How do I select specific text from a text box in a word form

I have a Word form using text boxes. We want to use cut and paste within
these text boxes. Although you can paste into a field, you can only select
text for cut or copy from the cursor to the start or end of the field. How
can we select text from within the field?

If these text boxes are in a TABLE, then you can't select "bits and pieces" of
text. This is a long-standing bug in Word and will never be fixed.
