Office 2007 has all the scanning tools of previous versions, including a
rudimentary OCR software solution called Microsoft Document Imaging, which
is not installed by default. Bad workmen and blaming tools springs to mind

I purchased a new scanner because my old one would not work with Word 2007.
The new one an HP G4050 doesn't either and HP is blaming Microsoft. The HP
guy told me to scan from Word, but I can't find that option anywhere. "Help"
give you the way, but the file option is not there to choose. Did you ever
get an answer?
The HP guy is right and wrong. Word 2007 no longer offers that. Previous
versions did.
Specifically what do you mean by "would not work"? Please understand that
when you are asking for technical help here or with HP, we need specifics.
Just like when you tell the doctor that you've had an earache in your left
ear for two days and not just "I'm sick".
