How do I save my pen markings PPt during slide show for previous

Every time I make pen markings on a slide during a slide show, they disappear
when I go to the next slide. I understand that are supposed to be erased
automatically, but if I want to save them so I can go to the previous slide
to see the markings, how do I save the pen markings from one slide to the
next?

You can set the option to allow ppt to keep ink annotations when exiting the
slide show.
To do so, go to Tools > Options. Click view tab. Then, under slide show
section, put a checkmark on "Prompt to keep ink annotations when exiting".

I do not have "Prompt to keep ink annotations when exiting" as an option. My
PPt has a "default view", but nothing like the above. Any other suggestions?
Thank you for trying.

I'm pretty sure the ability to save the ink markings was introduced in PPT
2003.
