If you meant folder instead of file:

Drag them out of Outlook into a folder shown in Windows Explorer. That
will create .eml files that you could later drag back into Outlook or
double-click to have them opened by Outlook. Doable but clumsy.

Otherwise, create a new or alternate message store (.pst file), File ->
Open to open it, and drag the items into that other message store. You
can choose to leave that message store open in Outlook so you can go
search for old items or close it (and open later when you want to see
what is in there).

As an alternate to the alternate message store, start using
auto-archiving to move old items from your current message store into
the alternate (archive) message store. Again, you can use File -> Open
to view that alternate message store when you want (I leave mine always
open so I can search on old items in it).

If you meant file instead of folder:

You'll have to explain what is YOUR definition of an "ms office
documents file".
