Hi Rosie, just save your files to somewhere other than the the hard disk of
the computer that you are working on: so you could save your files to a
floppy disc or a USB drive; or send them up to your email account.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

Never ever save Word files to floppy disc! It is the surest means of
document corruption. You may be able to copy one or two small files to
floppy ... but never save (or open) from Word.

As far as Word is concerned -

Copy all your Word documents and anything else you want to keep to an
external drive. USB hard drives are not especially expensive so it would be
a plan to copy everything and then you will know nothing has been lost. Such
drives often come with backup software. You will probably need to run it
overnight. Also run Belarc Advisor (a free download) and print out the
results as it will be a handy store of your product keys that will be
required when you re-install the software.

Alternatively you could find out why the PC is running slowly. Ask in a
Windows forum, but you will need to supply more information.
