I recently tried a version of office 2003 I was in the middle of something
and lost my current version 2000 proffessional. I forgot and then the trial
ended. I got the disk for 200 and reinstalled. Then I uninstsalled the
trial version according to instrution.
My problem is the mail and adress book that was in Outlook 2003 did not
transfer to outlook 2000. Is there any way to get it back. I tried
importing, but looks like only 9 message came in, none from outlook 2003

OL2003 format pst cannot be read by earlier version.
You will have to find someone with a working OL2003, who can then open your
pst, create a new old format pst and copy data across. This pst can then be
opened in your OL2k

Yet ANOTHER example of predatory practices and TOTAL unconcern for future
and existing customers by MS - having myself used the trial version of
Office 2003 there is NO and I repeat NO warning given that the Unicode
format pst file is not backward compatible and that if you do NOT create a
97-2002 format pst file all your emails will not be accessible when the
trial expires.

OK I am downloadiung a trial again so hopefully will be able to recover. You
said open my PST file then save as old new PST, then copy data across to
what? I am not sure. It looks like in my file I have an outlook .pst and an
outlook1.pst

Don't create a backup - it is still the same unusable file format.

Create a NEW .pst file - 97-2002 style. Open that .pst file and drag and
drop your information from your current .pst file to the new one you
created. Open that 97-2002 file in your older Outlook.
