how do i retrieve emails from microsoft works?

i sent an essay which was typed in microsoft works. the person receiving
this couldn't open it because they work with microsoft word. how do they
retrieve this document

Depends on which version of Works you used, and which version of
Word the recipient has. Generally speaking, Word can open Works
word processor files if the appropriate file converter is
installed into Word.

Alternatively, from your Works program, you might try to "save
as" a Word (.doc) file and then send that instead of the original
..wps file.

Either you need to save it as Word format (RTF) from Works, or they need the
appropriate Works filter linked from the downloads page of my web site.
