how do I resore recovered folders

I had a corrupt file.

I fixed it using the scanpst

now i have under a "lost folders" tab, my contacts, calendar, tasks, and
notes labeled as "recovered folder" and some odd number

How do I once again have these folders labeled correctly as calendar, tasks
and so on?

For this level of corruption I recommend either restoring from backup or
start off with a new pst-file.
If you indeed want to continue with this pst-file start Outlook with the
/resetfolders switch. Additionally you might need to run the
/resetfoldernames switch as well;

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetfolders

I just want to have a normal Inbox, Outbox, Notes, Calendars, and other
personal folders. I don't want all this "lost folders" files nonsense.

How can I can I do that?

I don't want the lost folders files anymore. I just want the information in
there to be put into my proper places, like calendar, notes, and tasks

Where do you get stuck?
Once you have the normal folders again you can move the items out of "Lost
Folders" and then delete the "Lost Folders" if you want to.

Hi,

I did that. But it doesn't look like it did anything. I have all my
folders now, including tasks, notes, and calendar, but the informatioin I
want in them is still located in the lost and found in the recovered folders

I guess my question is, how do I move the items out of the lost folders? I
tried dragging them to the correct folders but it simply made a sub folder.
for example, notes. I took the notes in the recovered folder and dragged
them to notes in my personal folders. now under notes, I have a sub folder
which is the recovered folder, but it has not put the information from the
recovered folder into the notes folder.

And your first suggestions, when you said, "start off with a new pst file."
how do I do that?

I know I'm probably annoying, but thank you for your time

Don't move the folders but move the items. You can select multiple by
holding SHIFT or CTRL when selecting or use CTRL+A.

To start off with a clean pst-file choose File-> New-> Outlook Data File...
and choose your storage location (like ..\My Documents\Outlook\)
To set it as the default delivery location use Tools-> E-mail Accounts->
Next-> dropdownlist at the bottom of the dialog

Hi guys,

I am facing the same kind of problem but now i have two inbox folders. And
my emails are distributed amoung them. WHen i try to move the files from one
inbox to the other or to any other file. I get an error as stated below:
" Cannot copy files. The files maybe deleted or already copied"

Can you please help me with taht .
