How do I reset default settings for footnote/endnote in Word 2007

While Word 2007 has thankfully (and finally) improved the footnote/endnote
fearture by moving it only one layer deep, the default format size (10 pt.)
is unacceptable to my book publishers and generally so in academia.

Finding the where to reset the default format has proved impossible for me.
The sensible solution would have been the drop down menu under References >
Footnote, but No.

Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

There's a Style (somewhere, I don't know where 2007 keeps them) called
Footnote Text, which is what you must Modify to fix this.
