how do i reply or write new e-mail in trial version office 2003

I have just recieved the 30 trial of Office professional edition 2003 and
installed it on my computer but it won't let me reply to e-mails or write a
new e-mail. How am i supposed to evaluate the product if i can't use it
properly
 
Did you activate it and set up your POP email accts properly? You can't use
Outlook for web based email Hotmail unless you pay a fee. Even the trial
version must be activated online to use for 30 days.
