How do I rename a BCM database

G

Guest

I need to rename a BCM database and can't work out how to go about it.

I have tried creating a new database with the new name and importing data
into it but its not possible to import all the Account History Items from the
old BCM database so its no use. Therefore, renaming looks to be the only
option.

Any help is much appreciated.

Old database... new database.

The database name does not matter with this product so that won't solve your
problem. What is the problem that you are trying to solve? As Speciall much
background and details as possible, please. Specifically, what's missing
from your account history? Is there a way to get back to the original
configuration? How did you do your backups?

Let's set a little bit of context.
Which of the following is your scenario?

1. SBA 2006, BCM V1 2003 -> BCM V2 SP3
2. BCM V1 -> BCM V2 SP3
3. SBA 2006 BCM V1 -> BCM 2007 B2TR (beta 2 technical refresh)
4. SBA 2006 BCM V2 -> BCM 2007 B2TR (beta 2 technical refresh)

Please specify whether the source machine and the new machine is the same or
not.

For simplicity, I am ignoring SBA for now.

What I suspect you are trying to do is to move your data to a new machine.
You may mistakenly believe that BCM stores all data, while in reality it's a
composite display of both your PST file and your BCM data. Only if you have
both of those data sources configured properly will you have all your data
fully available.

Welcome to BCM groups.
