How do I remove the dots separating each word

I assume that this is only on screen? Press CTRL+* or the pilcrow button ¶
on the toolbar to toggle the display.

The dots won't print. Execute this line from the immediate window in the ID

ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.ShowAll = Fals

OR

look for a character that looks like the mirror image of a P, click it.
 
Press Ctrl-Shift-* (Ctrl-*) to hide non-printing characters. That dot is not
printed, it is Word's way of letting you know that someone pressed the space
bar.
