How do I recover a deleted document after I clicked save?

I've been working on a story for a long time, every time I was finished I
saved it. I noticed that I had two documents with the same name, both were my
story but one was my longer version. I wanted to keep the long version so I
went to the short version clicked edit, then select all then delete content
then I clicked save. I went to the longer version but it was a blank
document, same story wit the short version. I've tryed everything, even
making my system go back to yesterday's setting. How do I recover both
versions the way they were before I deleted them?

The only way to recover now would be from a backup copy of your document.
