How do I receive email messages without waiting for them?

When I open Outlook, Inbox, I have to wait several minutes to receive my
messages. How can I apply settings so that when I open my Inbox the messages
are there waiting for me? Help please. Thanks.
 
What account type? If you use Exchange Server or IMAP, you will have
your messages in the Inbox. But with POP3 they need to be downloaded.
