How do I receive automaticly but send manually?

With MOOL, every time I click send, my e-mail is automatically processed and
sent. Immediately. This is not good.

Within the Outlook 2003 Send/Receive settings (Menu > Send/Receive >
Send/Receive Settings > Define Send/Receive Groups > Edit > Account Options)
I noticed I can specify whether or not an account sends and/or receives by
checking or unchecking a box. This is awesome! Alas, it does not appear to
work. IIRC, Outlook 2000 allowed me to automatically receive all mail while
requiring all mail to be manually sent.

I've played with the Group setting check boxes (detailed below) to no avail.
Still, every time I click send, the e-mail is sent immediately.

Setting for group "All Accounts"
Include this group in Send/Receive (F9)
Schedule and automatic send/receive every x minutes.
Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting.

Does anybody see what else I need to do to make Outlook Live automatically
receive all mail while requiring me to manually send all mail?

Thanks,
jon

First make sure you do not have Send Immediately selected in Tools, Options,
Mail Setup tab, Send immediately when connected checkbox. Then if you want to
send and not receive, use the Send Receive dropdown arrow to choose Send All.

Oh, good gravy... how did I miss that? Looks like I should renew my "-- for
Dummies" subscription.

THANKS!!!

This really doesn't answer the question, as far as I can tell. We want to
receive automatically, but send manually. The "fix" you recommended does fix
the sending manually part, but it also disables the automatic receive. The
send/receive are so tied up together there does not appear to be a away to
make them act separately.
