How do I quickly insert multiple pics as many slides?

I am new to power point and eager to master it. My friend added pics one by
one as slides, but if I have 90 pics in a folder, that is going to be a huge
amount of time. Can you somehow import an entire folder of pics, and have
power point see them and immediately set them up as 90 different slides, to
be individually 'tweaked' later? Also, is there an 'auto-fit' setting for
pics, or do I actually have to resize every pic to fit the screen? Windows XP
Home will slideshow and auto fit to the screen (auto-generate thumbs).
Someone PLEASE tell me I don't have to re-edit the entire folder just to
accomidate Power point. I just tossed a dozen pics in and ran a slide, and it
showed some pics at full size, which were way beyond screen size.
If anyone who is knowledgable about Powerpoint can connect to me and give me
tips and guide me as I learn, I would deeply appreciate it. My e-mail is

some knowledge, just looking for helpful guiding here and there, as I am at
